In an attempt to honor the resilience and to bring a smile to the lips of the residents in Tel Rumeida, Hebron Rehabilitation Committee today distributed Ramadan decorations through Ibrahim al-Khalil Society and funded by the International Presence Mission in Hebron (TIPH).
According to Emad Hamdan, General Director of HRC, this holy month is a spiritual ritual in which Muslims feel a special atmosphere. This feeling, though, does not apply to the residents of Tel Rumeida who feel completely isolated by the Israeli closures surrounding them and the increasing Israeli pressure practiced on them. Bringing happiness to Tel Rumeida was the motivation for this initiative.
A resident of Tel Rumeida and the head of Ibrahim Al-Khalil Society, Abdel-Majid Al-Khatib, praised HRC for its efforts and activities to encourage citizens' resilience. Al-Khatib mentioned several achievements made by HRC in Tel Rumeida, such as the rehabilitation and maintenance of houses and providing health, social, educational and recreational services to its residents. in addition to providing means of protection for the population by distributing first aid kits and fire extinguishers.
Umm Wissam Dufesh, a resident of Tel Rumeida, said that this initiative brought joy to the houses of Tel Rumeida and illuminated the dark streets due to the Israeli occupation measures.
Emad Hamdan thanked the Temporary International Presence in Hebron for their support for the inhabitants of the old town and Tel Rumeida. Hamdan also said that the decorations will also be distributed in the areas of Wad Al Hussein, and Jaber and Salayma neighbourhoods.
