Hebron Rehabilitation Committee hosted a delegation from the Arts Collaboratory Network accompanied by Riwaq, a local center for architectural conservation. The delegation was received by the General Director of the HRC, Imad Mandan, who welcomed them to the city of Hebron. He then briefed them on the current situation of the Old City, and introduced the projects implemented by HRC, especially in reviving the economic and tourist lives in H2.
He then gave them a detailed explanation of the achievements of the HRC over the past twenty-two years; namely restoring life to the Old City by rehabilitating buildings, preserving the cultural heritage, and renovating shops to encourage their owners to re-open their shops. He also pointed to the work of the HRC Legal Unit in documenting the Israeli violations, following up with the authorities.
The delegation praised the work of Hebron Rehabilitation Committee in protecting the Old City and preserving its cultural heritage. During their tour they expressed their admiration of the markets and shops in their new style, noting that they have become more aesthetic and lively.
